The National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL), on June 17, 2026, issued Amendment No. 06 to its General Information Brochure (NABL 100A), introducing significant changes to its accreditation framework, fee structure, and operational guidelines.
The amendment extends the accreditation cycle from two years to four years and introduces a Mid-Cycle Assessment Fee within the accreditation fee structure. It also updates NABL’s international recognition framework to reflect the formation of the Global Accreditation Cooperation Incorporated, established on January 1, 2026, which integrates the functions previously undertaken by the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and the International Accreditation Forum (IAF). In addition, the amendment recognizes the transition from ISO/IEC 17043:2010 to ISO/IEC 17043:2023 for proficiency testing providers.
Further, the amendment incorporates the Coconut Development Board under the Integrated Assessment framework, updates NABL documentation and accreditation requirements, and revises aspects of the fee structure and accreditation processes. NABL continues to provide accreditation services for testing laboratories, calibration laboratories, medical laboratories, proficiency testing providers, reference material producers, and biobanks in accordance with applicable international standards.
